The children in this class are in year 3 and 4. This is also called lower key stage 2.

Children in Key Stage 2 learn all the subjects included in the national curriculum: English, mathematics, history, geography, modern foreign language, PE, art and PSHE. Children learn computer skills which they can subsequently apply in other curriculum areas. There are frequent visits to the secondary phase site for design & technology days where pupils meet specialist teachers and use specialist equipment. This also provides an excellent opportunity to ease transition from primary to secondary phase. Teachers from the PE department teach the majority of the PE sessions to the primary phase pupils. The children attend swimming lessons for one term.
Children start a new topic at the beginning of each half term and work with the other classes to share resources and take part in trips and visits.
Assessment is continuous and culminates in end of term tests to ensure children are making good progress.
