Curriculum

At Iceni, we believe in personalising our curriculum to meet the needs of all pupils.

Pupils will study a wide range of subjects in Key Stage 3 (Years 7 and 8).  This includes the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science (comprising Physics, Biology and Chemistry) as well as History, Geography, Languages (French and German), PE, Enrichment, ICT, Technology (Resistant Materials, Food Technology and Graphics) and the Arts (Art and Design, Drama and Music).  Pupils who are not meeting national expectations in English and/or Mathematics at the start of Year 7 may receive additional English and/or Mathematics lessons.

We offer a 3-year Key Stage 4; all pupils will follow a core curriculum of English, Maths, PE, ICT, Preparation for Working Life and three guided options.

Guided option choices include a range of GCSE and BTEC courses (all qualifications we offer are on the DFE approval lists):

Business Studies

Computer Science

Drama

Design & Technology (Graphics & Resistant Materials)

Food Nutrition

Economics

Geography

French

History

German

Music

Media Studies

Psychology

PE GCSE / BTEC

 


Parents and pupils are provided with significant guidance about the option choices that we feel would be most appropriate in terms of their aptitudes and aspirations.
